Our Approach
We specialize in building a bridge of communication with you and your dog. A lot of the training we do is handler focused. Making sure you understand the process and how to achieve behaviors so that your dog can clearly understand.
We work a balanced approach to training. Meaning: motivation first, understanding next, and correction if needed.
We discuss implementing a pack structure within the home.
Equipment is paramount. We will show you how to fit properly if suggested for your specific dog, and how to best utilize if needed. For instance; how to properly use a leash to stop pulling and techniques for equipment.
Once you are able to condition your reward marker, your dog will start to understand when they are doing right and when they are doing wrong. We begin training with treats and move to toy reward once behaviors are solidified depending on what the dog chooses as a higher value.
Timing of markers and rewards is important when training. We teach you how use proper timing to raise your dog’s confidence and understanding.
We recommend an 7-8 session commitment to fully understand the timing and technique, and for your dog to become conditioned to the communication we build.

Praise for the proper puppy
“I went to Lori for help with my 95lb Malamute puppy after he tore my rotator cuff while I was walking him. He had issues with pulling, not listening to any commands as well as just basic naughtiness. I have noticed a huge difference in his behavior and I am happy to say we can go for walks without any pulling. He loves his trainings with Lori and gets excited every time we pulled up. I will definitely be bringing him back for any issues that arise in the future! Thank you Lori for helping Badger be a better, happier pup!

“When I got my puppy, Sunny, I knew I was going to need a trainer. Having strong border collie genes meant that we would need a seasoned pro to work with us. Lori was patient and understanding of my learning style and Sunny’s needs. She was so helpful in educating me on the ins and outs of her breed. She spent time creating a thoughtful training plan and helped us develop a thorough communication system. She also helped me troubleshoot behaviors and quirks (like separation anxiety and being nervous around other dogs) and much more. We couldn’t recommend her enough!”
